Clothing Drive Benefits Star of Hope Ministries, Solid Foundation Skate Park

Borst Landscape and Design will hold its annual clothing drive from Monday, October 3 through Friday, October 21, at company headquarters, 260 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale, N.J. Area residents are asked to bring new or gently used clothing for men, women and children, including outerwear, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A truck will be parked outside the Borst office where donors may deposit their clothing donations.

The donations will benefit patrons of the Star of Hope Thrift Shop in Paterson and also recipients reached by Solid Foundation, a Midland Park skateboarding club and ministry that organizes charitable community projects in our area and makes regular visits to New York City to pass out coats, blankets and food.

“Solid Foundation is a pretty amazing outreach organized by some great kids and we were very impressed with its mission,” said President Mark C. Borst. “We are very happy to be donating a portion of our clothing collection to both of these extraordinary charities this year.”

Proceeds of items donated to the Star of Hope Thrift Shop will benefit residents of the Greater Paterson area who are aided by Star of Hope Ministries, Inc., which works in partnership with pastors and community leaders of Greater Paterson by providing them with tools and resources to strengthen their capacities to address pain and poverty in their communities. The massive flooding and devastation caused by Hurricane Irene in Paterson has left many residents in need of resources.
