Star of Hope Ministries in Paterson, New Jersey plans to distribute at least 1,500 turkeys and 2,000 boxes of Thanksgiving meals to families in need. The ministry is currently soliciting donations from churches and individuals to make this goal a reality.
“This is not a small feat, but God continues to be faithful through each one of you,” Star of Hope said in a recent newsletter.
Star of Hope, a historic ministry in downtown Paterson, serves those in need through food distribution, connecting churches with needed resources, and organizing daily prayer calls, among other outreaches.
The Thanksgiving Box of Love initiative seeks to provide all the ingredients needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for the underserved families in Greater Paterson, Newark, Willingboro, and beyond. Sponsors can provide a Thanksgiving Box of Love with a $50 donation, whereas a $18 donation will cover the cost of a turkey.
The ministry faces a greater need this Thanksgiving season with fewer sources of food supplies in the area and due to COVID-19 restrictions.
