Athletes in Action (AIA) Girls Basketball, based in Bergen County, is now recruiting players for its two middle school teams. This fall, the teams will play in a local league and in tournaments.

AIA will hold tryouts/evaluations in August. During the season, practices will be held Thursdays, 6-7:30 p.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s gym in Ridgewood (day subject to change). Teams will have a maximum roster of 10 players. In addition to skills, drills and game-knowledge training, each practice will consist of a 10-minute faith lab (devotion), where an aspect of biblical character building will be emphasized.

AIA has a paid coaching staff for its two middle school girls’ team. The cost for the Competitive Team is $440 per player, which includes 10 training sessions, 8 open gym nights and 8-10 games. This team will be coached by Kristen Hanson. The cost for the Development Team is $320, which includes 10 training sessions, 4 open gym nights and four games. Coach is TBD. For both teams, there is an additional $65 charge for full uniforms and a practice shirt.
