Liquid Church, one of New Jersey’s fastest growing Christian churches, celebrated the grand opening of its Mercer County Campus, the result of a ministry merger with Princeton Meadow Church, On October 31st, Sunday services were once again eld at the church at 545 Meadow Road.
In the Spring of 2021, the congregation at Princeton Meadow Church voted to merge ministries with Liquid Church, becoming its new campus in Mercer County. The Princeton Meadow congregation was previously led by Pastor Ken Smith, who founded and led the church for over 40 years.
“Princeton Meadow is a spectacular church with a rich spiritual legacy,” said Tim Lucas, lead pastor and founder of Liquid Church. “We see this merger as an exciting opportunity to combine the rich history of Princeton Meadow – located just 4 miles from prestigious Princeton University – with the fresh ministry momentum of Liquid. We have a vision to Saturate the State with the Gospel of Jesus Christ – and this merger is a big step forward, extending our reach into Central and Southern New Jersey to reach a new generation of leaders.”
The merger is Liquid’s third – the growing church successfully “rebirthed” the struggling Mountainside Gospel Chapel in 2013 and the former St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Garwood in 2016. Both churches have experienced a revitalization through a merger with Liquid, and are once again seeing services filled with young families. The expectation is that Princeton Meadow will experience similar growth.
“We want to revitalize the original dream of Founder and Pastor Ken Smith, injecting the community and the next generation of believers with fresh hope and vision to reach the Mercer County community for Christ.” added Lucas.
The church property in Princeton includes a craftsman sanctuary with capacity for 500 attendees per service. This Summer and Fall, Liquid Church conducted minor renovations on the building in preparation for its Grand Opening, which included refreshing children’s ministry spaces and installing new technology in the sanctuary.
Liquid also plans to invest in the next generation locally by purchasing a shuttle bus for use by college students at Princeton University, Rider University, and The College of New Jersey – all just a 10 minute drive away from the new Mercer County Campus. The student shuttle will offer transportation to Sunday Worship Services, small groups, outreaches, and events designed for college students.
Liquid Church at Princeton Meadow will host two services every Sunday at 9:30am and 11:30am. Every Sunday, Liquid Family programming will be available at the 9:30am service for children from birth through Middle School, including children with special needs.
