Are you planning a mission trip for your youth group? Are you a youth pastor hoping to get your students more involved in training? Touch the World, based in Allendale, NJ, is a youth missions organization that provides expert training and resources focused on identity, culture, and mission. Touch the World’s goal is to see short-term missions done well and to empower youth to live as sent disciples every day, everywhere.

“Today, youth continue to leave the church as they struggle to make their faith their own. They are searching to know who they are, where they belong, and what their purpose is, and aren’t finding those answers within the church. For many, faith is something that belongs to their parents, but not themselves,” said Tim Dedrick, Missions Director of Touch the World. “However, if they are challenged to step outside their comfort zone and participate in God’s mission, they begin to recognize how God has given them identity, belonging, and purpose. As they step into that calling, they take ownership of their faith and become lifelong disciples of Christ.”

Touch the World’s in-depth missions training prepares teams to serve in effective and culturally relevant ways, both on a short-term mission trip and in their everyday lives. Without adequate training, teams can unintentionally cause harm to the community they’re serving. Beyond their trip, untrained participants are less likely to experience long-term change in their lives. With proper training, both the trip participants and the community can experience positive, long-term impact.

Touch the World is offering four 3-Day Missions Training retreat weekends in Summer 2022. The training covers identity, the Gospel, culture and worldview, poverty, and prayer. Teams will go through team building and debrief sessions together to build camaraderie and trust before going out to serve. Additionally, students will also have the chance to engage in times of worship, personal devotions, and to hear from a speaker.

The cost of training is $249 per person. This cost includes food, lodging, and Touch the World’s expert training and resources. The expected 2022 dates for summer training are: June 29-July 1, July 6-8, July 20-22, and July 27-29.
