We all wrestle to figure out how to move past the pain of life. In Psalm 23, David proclaimed, “He restores my soul,” meaning that God can refresh and rebuild our soul. Many people don’t fully understand this powerful reality or don’t grasp that restoration is most often a process that they also can influence “how fast” or even “if” soul restoration takes place!

A basic definition is that our soul holds our thoughts, emotions, intellect, and mindset. This is often where we struggle. We can have a strong faith, intellect and commitment to God but simultaneously be damaged in our soul by life experiences. Like David, we need our soul restored!

On Saturday, February 17th, a three-hour seminar will be held called: Moving Forward… Navigating through Crisis, Trauma and Loss.

Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/804406901697?aff=oddtdtcreator

This seminar is open to all and will be relevant to anyone who is navigating through life’s difficulties. Topics include:

Moving Forward…

We all can get stuck in our pain and some stay unnecessarily stuck for years or even decades! You can learn practical actions and steps to help rebuild a stronger mindset to enable you to process your pain in a healthy way that allows you to make ongoing progress. I will be sharing a combination of over 25 years of serving others in pain, along with my personal journey of navigating through my own emotionally crushing experiences. One key thing I learned was to not over spiritualize emotional well-being. There are many practical things we do in addition to our faith that are more behavioral and physical in nature to advance through life challenges in a faster and more effective way.

Forgiveness

Dr. Akia Blandon, DNP, Psych. NP, will share pieces from her book TRIUMPHANT: My Journey, His Call, which hit the Amazon #1 New Release in the categories of Abuse and Self-Help. Forgiveness is also most often a process that needs to be understood. Dr. Akia will be able to share the steps she needed to take to get her own healing that you can apply to your life.

You Are Not Alone

Malik Carey, CEO of The Family Healing Center (http://www.familyhealingcenternj.com), will share on how relationships, support and community can help you overcome past pain and move forward to write your next chapter. He will also how experience person victory in his own painful journey of abandonment, loss and personal brokenness.
