Pillar College Will Host ‘God, America and Politics, Faith & Culture’ Symposium with Dr. A.R. Bernard

“God, America and Politics: Faith & Culture” is the topic for the fourth annual Pillar College Virtual Symposium that convenes on May 6^th from 10:30 am – 1:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Please use http://www.pillar.edu/symposium to register.

Dr. A. R. Bernard from the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, will be the keynote speaker. His presentation will highlight scholarly, theologically- sound, and critically-engaging perspectives on faith and culture.

“The intersection of faith and culture is perplexing, and as such, one of the challenges of life in the 21st century remains the effective integration of both. Culture is all around us and cannot be ignored. It’s the air we breathe, but is culture the source of sin? So how does a person who values Christian faith live without compromising integrity? Pillar College’s Faculty Symposium will provide insight into these relevant issues and concerns,” said Dr. Joanne Noel, Associate Dean & Professor of English and Chairperson of the Faculty Symposium Committee.

Breakout sessions with faculty, students, influencers, and community leaders will allow attendees to network, to come away with strategies, and action plans for their institutions or communities that will help successfully navigate the somewhat turbulent intersections between faith and culture.
