The reknowned Hawthorne Christian Academy Servants of the King Choir will perform in multiple cities in England and Scotland this spring. Students and parents are currently leading several fundraising inititaives to help defray some of the costs. One of the upcoming fundraising events is a Craft and Vendor Show on October 29 on the campus of Hawthorne Gospel Church. HCA is inviting local neighbors and friends to attend and support the vendors who are supporting Servants of the King.
At the Craft and Vendor Show (admission is free), the the HCA Choir will perform several songs they plan to perform in the U.K.
Last April, after a year of extensive fundraising, the high school choir at Hawthorne Christian Academy (HCA) in Hawthorne traveled with over 35 students from both Bergen and Passaic Counties to San Diego to compete in a national competition that was sponsored by the World Strides Heritage Festival. In San Diego, they faced stiff competition from choirs from across the USA. The HCA choir won Gold Medals in 7 specific groupings (Mixed Concert Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Outstanding Male and Female soloist, Best Overall Choir and Best Choral program). It was a clean sweep for HCA and New Jersey.
