BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — There is a new women-only divorce recovery support group meeting in New Jersey.

DivorceCare for Women meets at Bethany Community Center at 605 Pascack Road in Washington Township. Meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

“Unless you’ve been there, it’s hard to understand the hurt that comes during the process. That’s why many of your friends and family don’t fully understand what you are going through and don’t know how best to help you,” said Dianne McKim, the group’s director. “We do.”

There is a $15 registration fee, which includes a workbook. Financial help is available for attendees who do not have the means to pay for the book.

“DivorceCare for Women is led by women who have been through divorce and successfully rebuilt their lives,” McKim said. “We understand how you feel because we’ve been in the same place. We’ll show you how to deal with the hurt caused by separation and divorce.”

Childcare is available, but those who need to use it must send an email including their name, phone number, number of children, and their ages.
