It is prom season. For a lot of New Jersey high schoolers, the prom is a memorable experience.
But many young ladies will never get to experience the prom because they cannot afford a dress. Star 99.1 FM is doing something to change that.
Star, the popular Christian radio station, is partnering with Catherine’s Closet of Wayne and Newark to collect hundreds of prom dresses for girls. (Related: Tim Tebow’s Night To Shine Celebrates VIPs from NJ and NY’s Special Needs Community)
There are several ways to donate:
- Visit the Star Car 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today near the Wendy’s parking lot at 922 Route 22 in Bridgewater.
- Mail dresses to Catherine’s Closet, 24 Dwight St., Wayne N.J. 07470.
- Drop off dresses at Catherine’s Closet in Newark, April 6 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Long and short dresses, shoes, purses, and jewelry are wanted.
Dresses will be revealed and girls will be able to pick them out at a special reveal event April 13 at Catherine’s Closet. Dresses will cost $10.
